18 September 2022 - Rings of Power
As readers of this blog will know. I am a huge Tolkien fan, not just the Peter Jackson movies (which are excellent) but also the numerous books too. I admit I have been dreading the launch of Rings of Power and now that it's live, it's not, in my view, Tolkien. It's a fantasy series that uses some names from Tolkien and that's about it. Unfortunately it is badly written and takes huge liberties with the lore. I will continue watching for now.
It's so sad that Galadriel is totally unlikeable. She is selfish and it's really hard to feel anything for her at all. Tolkien would be horrified to see what Amazon has done to her.
Following my last blog where I said that I thought "Meteor Man" is Sauron. I think that is now wrong. My guess is that Halbrand (above with Galadriel) is Sauron. Why do I think this? The writers are making all the men in Rings of Power weak or fools. The only handsome strong man is Halbrand, so he's obviously going to be Sauron.
What about this chap?
