14 July 2022 - Fake Sauron, Rings of Power

I am really hopeful this is a joke. I am a big fan of Tolkien lore and this is not my idea of Sauron in the second age at all. Let me explain. At the beginning of the second age Sauron was incredibly powerful and had his full shapeshifting abilities. When he fooled the elves of Eregion he took on a fair form, a beautiful form designed to enable the elves to feel that they can trust him, with his true nature hidden from all (and that includes Galadriel, for all her perception skills she did not see through the fair form, although she not trust him as something felt odd, but she did not know why she felt the way she did).

He only lost his fair form after the fall of Numenor and then he took a form that revealed his true nature. A form that strikes terror into people, where people of low willpower would just die in his presence. In both these two forms, neither is the guy above. He doesn't fit as the beautiful deceiver (tell me, would you buy a used car from someone that looks like the guy above?) and he doesn't look anywhere near as scary as the form he took at the end of the second age.

What's going on? I can only hope that this is not Sauron but some underling. My theory is that Sauron is the so call "Meteor Man" and that he will be lovely, hiding his true nature. That would be a far better story and much more in line with Tolkien lore.
