We know from Astronomy that our Earth is rare and beautiful. As the dominant species on the planet our level of technology has now reached a stage where we are impacting on the planet. This isn't going to damage Earth in the long term (if we vanished tomorrow, the Earth will sort itself out in no time). However, climate change will affect our short lives on Earth, millions of people could potentially die if vast areas of the planet dry up. It is without doubt that humankind are damaging our planet and that only a collective response would start to slowly reverse the damage.
