Stress can be a killer. Sure, we all feel stress - try organizing a wedding, it's full of stress. However, imagine feeling that level of anxiety all the time, month after month, year after year. That's toxic and leads to mental distress such as depression and anxiety, amongst other mental health issues.
Fortunately, just like exercising muscles, there are techniques that can calm the body and the mind. That can restore order and perception. Obviously if you're experiencing mental distress then you should seek medical help as soon as possible, but forewarned is forearmed so help yourself to enable calmness.
