History

I must admit I was not a big fan of history when I was a student. I always preferred looking forward rather than looking back. However, when I started my degree I realised that it was so very important to understand history. All scientists are familiar with doing a literature search at the beginning of their work to understand what has gone before.

History tells us how much life has changed, how what was common place would now seem to be so strange. Personally, there has been one TV presenter that has brought history to life for me, the lovely Lucy Worsley (above). I quite like the Tudor period, how many people recognise the picture below of King Henry VIII.
