1 March 2023 - Robbie

I just watched The Forbidden Planet. What a great story, based on a Shakespeare play, The Tempest. When I was released it was ahead of its time. Yes, the special effects look a little dated compared to modern CGI, but it's a great film (which is more than can be said for films that do have a massive amount of CGI).

Although the Id was great, the robot was more so. Robbie the robot was both funny and amazing. It's a pity that he didn't appear more (although I think he had a guest spot in the original Lost in Space - which also had a slightly less awesome robot).

Wouldn't it have been great to be the girl, Altaira, played by the lovely Anne Francis. Having lots of beautiful dresses and diamonds all custom made by Robbie.
